The 2012 tournament was our biggest 8U classic to date and we want to make it even better in 2013!

I would like to personally invite all 8U girls teams to our Classic this summer
We are planning on making it the best yet and would love to have all of you be a part of it.

We will have hot food from 7am each day, lots of trophies, 
ASA umpires, free water for all the teams and of course roses for all the girls.

           Don’t miss the chance to let your girls participate in one of the 
most popular tournaments in northern California.

5/30 ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • In the interest of maintaining a competitive/fun environment for all, we have elected to divide teams into the 8UB/C classifications below.
  • Tournament staff reserve the right to reclassify teams to maintain competitive balance. This can occur before or after pool play.

“The Bob Gray Classic was initiated 5 years ago by Peter Fuqua (president of the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League) to foster sportsmanship, good competition and camaraderie between teams from all over the bay area. It has become the premier summer tournament for age 8 and under girls softball teams.”

2013 Tournament Details

  • Cost is $425 per team.
  • Each team is guaranteed 4 games.
  • 3 Games for Pool Play on Saturday (local teams should plan on playing a Friday night game).
  • We are committed to creating a positive experience for as many teams as possible. We will likely have a Gold, Silver, and Bronze bracket for Sunday elimination play.
  • Trophies for 1st and 2nd place in each bracket.  Metals and a Bob Gray Rose for EVERY player.
  • All games at Graystone Elementary (6982 Shearwater Drive, San Jose CA 95120) or Bret Harte Middle School (7050 Bret Harte Dr, San Jose, CA 95120)
  • Multiple on-site vendors (2012 vendors included Mojo Burgers, Dippin Dots, Jamba Juice).
  • Professional ASA Umpires for all games.
  • 2013 Rules.
  • Pool play schedule to be released on Tuesday June 4th, the week of the tournament.
