The Almaden Lightning is a Competitive Girls Fastpitch Softball Summer and Fall Travel Organization under the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League. Almaden Lightning teams are comprised of the very best players from the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League.

The Summer season generally runs from Memorial Day weekend (end of May) through July. Practices may start sooner but will not conflict with player commitments to their current Spring teams. The Fall season generally runs from the beginning of September into Novemeber.

Practice and game schedules vary by coach and division. Teams generally practice three days a week and play tournaments on the weekends. For Summer ball, most teams will play between 5-7 tournaments. For Fall ball, most teams will play 2-3 tournaments.

Almaden Lightning also hosts the Annual Bob Gray Classic tournament for all 8U girls teams. Details for our 2013 tournament are available here.
